New Jack Swing Hall Of Fame:
Laquan
Laquan was one of the first full-length album projects that California-based production team Richard Wolf and Bret "Epic" Mazur (of Peace Productions / Wolf & Epic) worked on. After mastering their wacky, yet insanely funky interpretation of the hip-hop/R&B/Pop hybrid sound of the New Jack Era with remixes for Bell Biv Devoe (most notably "Do Me!", "BBD (I Thought It Was Me?!)"), the Laquan song "Now 's The B-Turn" emerged in 1991 and was prominently featured on the soundtrack to Uptown's Strictly Business soundtrack.
While not much else is known about the whearabouts or past of Laquan, the strength of the "B-Turn" single alone warrants his inclusion in the NJS4E Hall of Fame.
